The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) is a nonthesis degree. The degree is awarded by the Graduate College. Instruction is offered through the Carver College of Medicine.
Applicants must meet the Admission Requirements of the Graduate College and the Athletic Training program.
Tuition and fees vary by degree program and the type of student you are.
- Priority Admission Deadline: December 1
- Standard Admission Deadline: March 1
Students are reviewed and accepted as applications are submitted, so interested students are encouraged to apply early. The application cycle opens July 1 prior to the the summer start of the following year. There are limited number of seats available. Once the limit is met, a waitlist will be used for additional applicants.
GRE scores are not required for this program.

Materials to send to Admissions
- If English is not their native language, students will need to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score, taken within the last 2 years. Only the IBT (Internet Based Test) form of the TOEFL will be accepted. A total score of 93 and speaking score of 26 is required for entry to the program.
- International students may also be required to submit TOEFL, IELTS, or DuoLingo scores to comply with the university's English Language Proficiency Requirements.
- Once recommended for admission, international students must send a Financial Statement.
